Just like all big moments in life, it is normal to have all sorts of feelings on your wedding day. Whether it’s anxiety, nervousness, excitement, or a combination of them all, these three breathing techniques will help you to plant your feet back on the ground. They will help you feel closer to yourself and will allow for your beautiful light to shine on your special day.

Square Breathing – Close your eyes and imagine a perfect square…inhale on the first edge of the square and then exhale to connect the next side of the square. Repeat an inhale and exhale pattern until the four sides of the square are completed. Do this slowly, you may repeat as many times as you need.
4-7-8-Breathing – Close your eyes. Breath in for four slow counts, hold your breath at the top for seven counts, lastly exhale for eight slow counts. Repeat at least four times. This has been proven to slow down your nervous system, a great way to calm your wedding day jitters.
Calming Counts – Close your eyes. Take a nice big deep breath in. Exhale slowly for 10 seconds while saying the word ‘relax’ in your head. When you count down to one, open your eyes and begin again with another deep breath. Repeat as many times as you’d like. This is a more simple technique but you’ll be shocked at how relaxed it really does make you feel!
These techniques are great for your big day, but can be used at any nerve-wracking times in life. Relax, you are beautiful and strong, you can do this!
